The expedition takes place in four phases.
The first brings us to Everest Nepalese base camp on Khumbu glacier at 5340 meters. From Paris, we will fly to Kathmandu with a final check-up of our gear. At Kathmandu, We will still be able to find material from old Himalayan expeditions. Then we ll’ take plane to Lukla where the trek begins through Khumbu valley.
The second phase will be acclimatization. Our bodies have to get used to the very high altitude, climbing gradually from base camp. We will limit our passages through the infamous icefall and its numerous dangers. We will include the climb to Lobuche Peak at 6119 meters. Then we'll go for final trip to camp III at 7300m, with two nights at Camp II at 6450m and one at camp III. We can then determine if we are able to attempt the summit.
The third phase will be the ascent itself, from 5300 meters to hopefully 8850 meters via 4 altitude camps. We plan to back down in two days. This attack will surely be preceded by a wait at base camp (5300m) the weather window, high temperatures and low winds.
The fourth phase is the return to Kathmandu down trough Khumbu valley and by plane from Lukla.

L’air chaud et humide de la mousson apporte un surcroît de température bienvenu mais aussi dans un deuxième temps de fortes précipitations sous forme de neige. Le but de l’expédition est donc d’être prêt lors de cette fenêtre météo qui intervient toujours entre mi-mai et les premiers jours de juin, et dont la durée peut être variable, de quelques jours à deux semaines.
